Network Update 31st May 2020
Transport for Cornwall bus services in Cornwall are set to go back to pre COVID levels on the 31st May 2020 as part of our continued effort to aid social distancing for those who need to make journeys by bus.
As more and more people return to work and education, the Transport for Cornwall network across the county will be at pre COVID planned capacity.
We will be operating a ‘school day’ timetable from 31st May, allowing school trips integrated in the local bus network to be run for those who need to get to school and have no other transport option.
We have set up a handy ‘Making travel Safer’ guide here, https://www.transportforcornwall.co.uk/news-service-updates/making-travel-safer/ offlining key messages and government advise. You will also see this messaging at bus stops and on buses.
Our website now has all timetables of services from 31st May. We are working rapidly to get as much communication out as possible.
Due to the ever-changing landscape we will not be installing timetables at bus stops. Our app will show live and planned departures, plus stops with real time displays will show when buses are due. Our website also has all timetables published.
You may see some loan buses from our sister companies running our services, as we utilise all we can to get more capacity on the roads. We have taken delivery and mobilised around 50% of our new £18m fleet. The rest will hit the duchy’s roads once the factories reopen. There will also be a small number of green buses, which were transferred as part of the contract, but we are working hard to get these into TfC colours as soon as possible.
Buses will have COVID related signage in them, advising on good practice.
We would like to hear about any issues or concerns you may have, as we return to service. Please visit our contact us section to see the many ways you can contact us.
